Background
Ross is a 26-year old former student from Chesterfield who
worked as a full-time editor for Poker Player Magazine before
turning pro in early 2011. He earns his living playing cash games
ranging anywhere from $0.25/0.50 to $5/10, but is also keen to make
an impact on the live tournament circuit since becoming a Black
Belt Poker sponsored pro at the turn of the year. He now receives
$1,500 per month in live tournament sponsorship and will be
appearing in various events at venues around the London area and
elsewhere.
Credentials
Armed with a determined and hard-working attitude, Ross has
managed to churn out a comfortable living in cash games, playing
over 500,000 hands and turning a consistent profit. In 2011, he won
in excess of $50,000 despite it being his first year as a
pro.
He only occasionally ventures into brick and mortar, yet already
has two titles to his name including victories in the Virgin Poker
Festival and Sky Poker Tour. He also final-tabled the PKR Live VI
Main Event in early 2011 and has cashed in a UKIPT Main Event in
Coventry.
With a background in journalism, Ross has developed excellent
social skills, and has no trouble in communicating ideas and
theories regarding the game. Currently, he writes a monthly
strategy column for Poker Player Magazine and has already commenced
writing articles on the Black Belt Poker site.
