Name
Kevin Williams
Online Moniker

Belt
Blue Belt
Background
Kevin was a relatively late arrival to professional poker, but
grabbed a taste for the lifestyle when he won the only seat in a
500-runner freeroll to play the 2007 WSOP Main Event in Vegas.
Although he performed well on his debut, he just missed out on the
money by a few places when he finished around the 700 mark out of
an initial field of 6,358.
Credentials
Forward wind three years and Kevin was a part of Black Belt
Poker's second Grading process, ultimately fast-tracking his way to
Blue Belt as one of five Grading winners. His status as a Blue Belt
led to Neil Channing staking Kevin in the Main Event later that
year, where he joined friend and fellow Blue Belt Jamie Burland on
a last-minute flight to Vegas.
These days, Kevin plays six-max $0.50/1 cash games on Black Belt
Poker, but started off as a cash game pro in Brighton where he
ground out a tidy profit over the space of a couple of years. Kevin
also has experience in low to mid stakes six-max SNGs, as well as
turbo SNGs where he boasts an ROI of 13-15 percent.
Although predominantly an online pro, Kevin has ventured onto the
live circuit, and was part of the Black Belt Poker trio who
finished an incredible second, third and fourth in the GUKPT Summer
Series leg in Luton. More recently, he made the money in the
Edinburgh UKIPT for his second live cash of the year.
His biggest score, however, arrived at the virtual felt only weeks
prior to jetting off for Vegas. With the BBP faithful cheering him
on from the rail, Kevin managed to take down iPoker's weekly
$200,000 GTD tournament for a whopping $42,000. Not bad for a day
at the office.
During the Grading, it emerged that Kevin had a talent for
teaching the game, and quickly impressed with his presentation and
strategy articles. So much, in fact, that Neil Channing invited him
to mentor at a two-day Black Belt Poker Boot Camp where Kevin led
group discussions and gave a well-received presentation on
G-Bucks.
