Sensei Jerome Bradpiece
Name
Jerome Bradpiece
Online Moniker
Gongonongo
Belt
Brown Belt
Background
He might not fit the stereotype, but Jerome slips quietly into
the category of 20-something well-educated Oxford graduate who
sacrificed the 9 to 5 and annual salary to take the poker world by
storm as a fully fledged member of the poker boom.
A former student of the triple crown - Politics, Philosophy and
Economics - Jerome started out in online MTTs before turning to
live tournaments, and later the cash felt which he has since made
his own.
Phlegmatic and self-controlled, Jerome is a confident if
softly-spoken adversary, critical of his own game but, in, his own
words, "I was planning to get rich or die trying via the medium of
poker, and I'm still alive."
Credentials
This loveable Londoner was one of Black Belt Poker's first Brown
Belts after surviving the inaugural Grading last year when 50 of of
the country's top pros competed over four weeks for a $20,000 WSOP
package. Jerome was one of eight winners who got to fly to Vegas
that summer and stay in the Black Belt Poker luxury mansion.
Jerome has been playing professional poker for a few years now,
and mainly focuses his attention on short-handed Pot Limit Omaha
cash on Black Belt Poker where he's making a large profit. He also
plays live tournaments, and has some impressive results to his
name, including winning the 2007 GUKPT in Walsall for £121,600. He
also made the final of the Amsterdam Master Classics the year
before. In total, Jerome boasts $540,224 in live tournament
winnings.
