Country of origin:
United States

Ted Lowe, Sid Waddel, John Motson – there are many commentators who are just as famous as the players upon which they commentate, if not more so, and Jesse May is no exception. Appearing on more shows than Jonathan Ross, May has simply become an ambassador of the game since bringing his enthusiasm and amusing quips to our front room in the late nineties.

Originally from Madison, New Jersey, May comes from a long line of players who dropped out of Uni once the poker bug bit. Now residing in Denmark with wife Mickey, May is a key figure with Matchroom Sports and commentates exclusively on all their televised events.

Many who have seen him play believe that despite his hectic schedule, May should play more often. He did, however, make one incognito appearance in the opening season of Late Night Poker, going under the pseudonym Mickey Dane, which is actually the name of the lead character in his highly acclaimed novel Shut Up and Deal.
