Black Belt Poker's latest hero, Jamie Burland, last night became the latest UKIPT Champion when he triumphed over 258 other players to earn himself a mouth-watering £65,400 in winnings.
A business student from Brighton, Jamie became a Blue Belt as a result of the 2010 Grading process in which he completed the six-week challenge to become one of Black Belt Poker's latest sponsored pros.
Jamie recently flew to Vegas at the very last minute after Black Belt Poker co-founder Neil Channing offered to stake players into the WSOP Main Event for the full $10,000. The only condidtion being that said player had to be Blue Belt. Sadly, and despite a plucky performance, Jamie was eliminated near the end of Day 3.
But, perhaps his premature departure was for the greater good, as only days later, Jamie experienced his biggest win to date.
