Mixed emotions for Blue Belt Kevin Williams as he looks back on the last 12 months.

We came into 2011 with the stench of optimism hanging in the air. I’d ended 2010 with a small but meaningful victory at the 350 Euro side event at UKIPT Galway and with the full remainder of the UKIPT’s second season ahead of us, and with rumblings of an organised assault on the WSOP, I was pretty sure I was a lock to win at least one ‘proper title’. Galway had also been one of my most enjoyable poker trips yet and with that particular tour exploding in popularity I was, at any rate, pretty psyched up for the year ahead.

One major goal I had was to break out of my prolonged 2010 break-even spell in online small/mid-stakes cash games. I suppose someone cynical at this point might say I should’ve been careful what I wished for. Let’s just say 2011 sure was not break-even as far as online cash is concerned. But enough of the spoilers, we’ll get to that later.
